Traditions

I love creating new traditions and implementing the old ones we have. I especially love traditions surrounding Christmas and Holidays. Today in primary we talked about traditions in sharing time. I was really interested to hear what other people do. Some of our favorite traditions are:

1) Delivering treats to others.
2) Read a Christmas story and sing carols every night before bed.
3) Make a gingerbread house.
4) Visit Temple Square.
5) Watch the first presidency devotional and then have hot chocolate and a Christmas treat. (We are trying this one this year.)
6) Go sledding (Alayna’s favorite)
7) Acting out the Nativity on Christmas Eve. (Allison’s Favorite)
8) Leaving Santa milk and cookies (James’ favorite)
9) Opening a present on Christmas Eve usually PJ’s
10) Making candy: fudge, toffee, peanut brittle and caramels.
11) Sneak a box of oranges or some other fruit to a needy family.
12) Make Christmas cookies.
13) Try to attend the Tabernacle choir concert.
14) Paint or make ornaments.
15) Pick secret people within our family and do secret good deeds for them.
16) Spent time with our family and loved ones that we don’t see too often.
17) My children absolutely love cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate on Christmas morning.
18) Try to focus as much as we can on Christ.
19)I buy each child an ornament of their choosing for them to collect for their future home. My mom did this, I had ornaments already for my first tree.
